About the Instructor

A graduate of the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of California San Diego, Chef Shawn Matijevich is a native of Smithfield, VA. He began working in the hospitality industry at a very early age in his parents bed and breakfast. His early training was at the Smithfield Inn in Smithfield, VA where he learned the fundamentals of classical cuisine and American regional cuisine. The last 12 years of his culinary career has taken him around the world, cooking for various diplomats and experiencing different cultures of the world.
